Professional Biography
Dustin holds a Master of Education from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Malone University. His digital media work began by launching the university’s first social media campaign in 2009. Since then, he has led digital strategy, customer intelligence, and innovation projects across the private, non-profit, and education sectors.
Before entering education, Dustin served as Corporate Chairman and Vice President of Right Choice Today, Inc., overseeing teams in management consulting, web development, event production, and customer satisfaction. As Chief Information Officer for RCTI Business Resources—the first startup to appear on the cover of U.S. Business Review—Dustin helped design a virtual corporate office model for small businesses.
Dustin has worked with hundreds of local churches in the non-profit sector during his time with CLAY Team Sports, Created... Music Project, and Paradigm Shift Ministries. Dustin also worked to teach and preserve local history related to the Underground Railroad as the owner of The Haven on Vine Bed & Breakfast and Retreat Center.
As a licensed educator, Dustin has experience teaching AP U.S. Government, AP Human Geography, American History, Economics, Financial Literacy, International Politics, Model UN, World History, Introduction to Law, and Criminology across public, private, and charter schools. Before receiving his teaching license, Dustin tutored for an IB boarding school in history, government, psychology, and theology.
Dustin has contributed to curriculum and research initiatives with institutions such as the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth, Harvard Case Method Institute, NYU’s Nest Support Project, Penn State’s Susan Hirt Hagen Center, Barna Group, and iCivics. He specializes in developing new courses, writing inclusive and well-scaffolded curricula, and training other teachers on utilizing digital technologies and resources.
