  • About Dustin

Learning, Compliance & Data Systems Strategist

  • I’m a governance and learning strategist whose work sits at the intersection of ethics, civics, and law. Across fifteen years in education, community leadership, and institutional design, my focus has remained the same: help people understand the systems that shape their lives—and help institutions operate with clarity, integrity, and accountability.

My academic path reflects this arc:

Ethics (B.A., Youth & Sports Ministry):

I began my career in values-based leadership and youth development, helping students and families navigate questions of purpose, responsibility, and community. This early work shaped the ethical lens I bring to everything I do: systems should serve people, not overshadow them.

Civics (M.Ed., Teaching & Learning – Social Studies):

I carried that foundation into civic education in New York City and at Johns Hopkins CTY, where I taught government, constitutional law, and public policy. I directed civic readiness and legal-studies programs, built documentation and compliance workflows, and helped schools meet state standards related to rights, responsibilities, and institutional accountability.

Law (J.D. Candidate, Community & Economic Development Law):

Today, I focus on governance, compliance, and public-interest law. Through Creative Visual Studio, I’ve designed FOIL/FOIA documentation systems, transparency workflows, data-ethics training, and communication structures that help organizations meet their legal and ethical obligations. I’m completing the NALA Certified Paralegal credential and pursuing my J.D. to strengthen my work in community-serving legal frameworks, administrative law, and institutional governance.

Outside of my professional work, I come from a background shaped by sports and music. I grew up playing competitive basketball and later coached students through athletic programs that emphasized character and teamwork. I also spent years directing youth music teams and organizing community events, experiences that continue to inform my belief in collaboration, shared purpose, and investing in the next generation.

  • My Mission

My mission is to build ethical, civic, and legal systems that are transparent, accessible, and accountable—and to help communities understand and navigate the structures that shape their lives.

    Crest & Heritage

The crest reflects a longstanding Craig family tradition of service in ethics, law, and public leadership. Its three emblems—Ethics (Deo), Law (Leges), and Civics (Iustitia)—honor the work of Sir Thomas Craig, the Scottish jurist whose writings helped clarify and unify English and Scottish legal principles, and his uncle John Craig, a Reformation minister involved in shaping the Church of Scotland’s early governance.

It also pays tribute to my grandfather and father, whose careers in education, business, and youth outreach modeled the belief that strong institutions begin with strong values. Their examples shaped my own commitment to building systems that are transparent, accountable, and centered on community.

The crest is both heritage and direction: a reminder that ethical formation, civic responsibility, and legal structure are not separate domains, but interconnected pillars of the work I strive to carry forward.
